"Reverse Manifest Destiny" Series
Since 1891 the city of San Francisco has kept a small herd of buffalo (American bison) in Golden Gate Park. San Francisco is not part of the historical buffalo range. These illustrations depict a giant buffalo leaving San Francisco, journeying back to Wyoming, where part of the original 1891 herd was taken from. Original buffalo illustration from 2022.

"Back on the Block" Series
Giant coyotes, pelicans, and herons run through the intersection in North Beach where I was born and raised.
Created during the height of the pandemic, these illustrations were born out of frustration with the endless waves of manifest destiny that wash over this land - and the unceasing and unexamined displacment, destruction, and pollution that they bring. It was joyful to draw these giant animals reclaiming the streets; representing forces greater than ourselves.
